Looking back at it now, I defintely see elements of “The Blob” and mainly “The Manster.” That’s a good one. Recommend it highly.

Guy goes to Japan, gets injected with secret juice by evil scientist. Gets a rash on his shoulder that eventually turns into an eyeball, then grows into a second monster head on his shoulder!

Easy one to get cheap, I am pretty sure it went into Public Domain due to a faulty copyright notice.

Of course, there’s plenty of stilted dialog here worthy of Ed Wood or Phil Tucker.

My favorite Bert and Ernie moment was Pat (as Ernie) panicking because someone had figured out that he had been on the grassy knoll when Kennedy was shot. “Oh, no! Now you know, too, Bert! Now you have to be killed! I won’t do it, of course, but somebody’ll have to.”

I forgot about that connection. Slurred lyrics and Bartles and James wine coolers from the 80’s had an interesting effect on the brain back then.

I believe also hanging out in the back of your mind might have been the cover of “My Girl Lollipop” by British ska group Bad Manners, which I believe we played on WJPZ a few times. In that song, they changed the lyric “she’s as sweet as candy” to “she’s as sweet as Gandhi,” although Buster (the lead singer) kind of slurred the line so it was not too understandable. Why they did this we never figured out. I guess just to be goofy.

Never mind the fact that they changed the gender in the lyrics too, it was originally “My Boy Lollipop” and sung by a 14 year old Jamaican girl. But that’s a little off point.

Yes, Pat is a genius. The characters doing impressions of each other reminded me of an example I often bring up to demonstrate what a genius Mel Blanc was. There’s one cartoon which has Daffy and Porky playing detectives in Hong Kong for some reason, I think it was a parody of some current movie blockbuster. At one point he has to do Daffy, while drunk, doing an impression of Porky doing an impression of an old Chinese woman.

10+ on the difficulty scale. The Swiss judge approves.

Close as I can tell through the Wiki – the interviewer was Chris Goss from Masters of Reality – he looks like the same guy I remember in Sinan’s first video of the band they did in the basement of the Landmark Theater. They’d wave their arms and be satanically slow in the air ducts, while a camera would dolly down the small hallway to a lit door – over and over and over again.

Chris was an Ozzy enthusiast – and since his band was named after a Black Sabbath lp, it makes sense he’d be the ‘expert’ to interview Ozzy.

The Board op was probably Mike Shore, but I’m a little foggy on it. I just remember laughing my ass off in the studio when Mike came in wide eyed and told us with a ‘Holy Shit, I don’t believe they didn’t figure it out’ look on his face.
